I was born and grew up in V. Mapa, Sta Mesa before SM Sta Mesa Mall. Corner of Ramon Magsaysay Blvd and now it is called Proper V. Mapa. My childhood memories. The homes then were better built and well maintained. Streets and sidewalks were wide opened and none of these vendors, tricycles, motorcycles parked everywhere. Now, they are blocking all corners of spaces, they can find? Tricycles were not even used as transportation. Papaano nauso ang mga tricycles? Ano year at bigla nakaroon na mga tricycles? In 2004, as Balikbayan, we stayed at Contemporary Hotel, walking distance to the mall. This hotel had plumbing problems and had cheap furniture. I wanted to walk to my old birthplace, Pagasa Street, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and my elementary school, P. Burgos so I thought, Contemporary Hotel was a convenient place to stay? The traffic going thru San Juan to Mega Mall was very bad. I was completely shocked to see my old place went down as got smaller, dirty looking, no privacy, so close together, wall-to-wall neighbors and the people were helpless. Hindi katulad noong, kahit mahirap ang mga buhay, maayos ang mga bahay, kalsada malawak para doon kaming naglalaro, hiwalay-hiwalay ang mga kapitbahay, masarap ang hangin, walang electric fans or aircon. Ngayon, talagang makikita mo ang mga buhay mahirap, dahil may electric fans at aircon na pagdagdag sa gastusin. I am blessed to come to California, kundi seguro wala din ako kinabukasan sa buhay at walang proper education kung nasa Philippines 🇵🇭 pa ako.? Masaya nga, pero ang kinabukasan ay mahirap maabot? Magcollege ka sa Philippines, mahirap naman ang mga jobs, low pay, and no good benefits. Ang daming mga universities sa Philippines at sila lang ang yumayaman at kawawa ang mga students na nakagraduate. Jobs are not available according to their degrees. Thank you for sharing your video.
